About Chip

Experience matters.
So does understanding what families actually go through.

For more than 28 years, I have worked in financial services helping families, business owners, and professional advisors think through important insurance and planning decisions. My background includes advanced life insurance planning, wealth transfer strategies, business continuation planning, underwriting advocacy, and long-term care integration.

Over the years, I have participated in the implementation of more than 10,000 customized planning solutions. That experience has taught me that good planning is never just about a product. It is about structure, communication, execution, and helping people understand why a strategy fits.

Long-term care planning has also become personal for me.

My mom had dementia, and as an only child I experienced the responsibility and emotional weight that can come when someone you love begins to need ongoing help. She had structure in place, and that mattered. It provided resources and options. But even with planning, the final years of her life were still difficult and emotional.

My father-in-law also experienced care needs that affected the family around him. Those experiences reinforced something I believe deeply: when care is needed, the plan is not only for the person receiving care. It is also for the people who love them.

That is why I created MyLTCStrategy.

The goal is to help families and advisors approach long-term care planning differently. Not with fear, pressure, or product-first conversations, but with clarity, compassion, structure, and a process designed around the people who matter most.

I am based in Chandler, Arizona. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my wife and children, ASU athletics, golf, cooking for friends, and community involvement.

“Long-term care is not just about paying for care. It is about supporting the people who love you so they do not have to carry every decision alone. That is why I created MyLTCStrategy — to help families make important decisions before a crisis forces them to.”

Important information

MyLTCStrategy is the independent long-term care planning brand of D. Chip Sroufe.

While clients work directly with Chip throughout the planning process, they also benefit from the resources, experience, and support of The C.O.R.E. Group, a nationally recognized independent insurance and planning organization.

Through The C.O.R.E. Group and its membership in LIBRA Insurance Partners, clients and advisors gain access to institutional-level planning resources typically unavailable through a single advisor or agent. This includes advanced case design, underwriting advocacy, carrier intelligence, product analysis, and implementation support across more than 40 leading insurance companies.

As an independent advisor, Chip is not limited to a single carrier or product solution. Every recommendation begins with understanding the client’s goals, family dynamics, health profile, and planning priorities. Solutions are then evaluated across the marketplace to identify the strategy that best aligns with the client’s objectives.

Chip has been licensed in the financial services industry since 1997 and has participated in the design and implementation of more than 10,000 customized planning engagements.

The MyLTCStrategy experience is intentionally personal.
The support behind it is intentionally powerful.
